A wonderful day learning a little about silver jewellery making. Hosts Nini and Ness and their staff were delightfully welcoming and helpful throughout. A lovely lunch provided, as was return transport..would certainly recommend, and return for another day of making. So pleased to take away my own creation and be happy with it.
The girls in my family did a full day course. We absolutely loved every part of the day. Ness and Nini are such beautiful welcoming souls and made our experience unique. Best thing I did in Bali. Learning new skills and taking home a beautiful piece I will treasure forever. Thank you.
Had such a lovely afternoon with my hubby being creative and making lovely pieces! Would do a full day next time... both Ness and Nini are delightful... a great and different experience
I was over in Bali from the UK in April this year and I did the half day course with my 11 year old daughter. We were collected from our hotel in Sanur which was a bonus and taken straight to the studio. The studio is in such a beautiful and tranquil place it was the ideal place to learn and get creative. It was easy to be inspired by the place and both myself and my daughter soon came up with a pendant design. Yes we did need a lot of help to achieve our end product but we were completely amazed by what we had achieved in the time. I could not recommend this highly enough as the whole team involved were amazing!
Nini, Ness and the team are fabulous and very friendly. I booked to do the full day course which included a delicious lunch. This was my first experience at making jewellery and I and I was immediately made to feel at home by Ness and team in the air conditioned workshop. Alongside finding out more about them and jewellery in general, we talked about what kinds of styles I liked and we ran through ideas together.
Nini (the teacher) and her assistant were very patient and took the time not just to explain tools, technique and processes, but to also show me how everything worked- there are lots of tools in the workshop to play with.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone (another student was there doing a week-long course and she'd already had quite a bit of experience). It was a lot of fun and I thought it was good value for money, I learnt a lot, and best of all I walked off with some things I made that I actually love (though Nini and her assistant helped a lot).
There are quite a few different options on their website, but you do need to get in touch ahead of time to check availability and book - they are super responsive on email.
We are a family of 4 with grown children who did the half day class. It was an amazing experience and each of us were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. My only regret was not doing the whole day class so that we could have made either a second project or a more detailed project as a half day is quite ambitious to create a unique piece. Nini and Ness are a breath of fresh air, full of insights and tips. We felt truly welcomed and comfortable in their beautiful space!
First off i loved the experience and the mentorship. For a half day thing to do on a holiday with the girlfriend, to walk away with stingray and moon pendants that we actually wear regularly, and to feel like we learned something about jewelry making as a first timer are all individually great reasons to do this, but collectively it makes it a no brainer. That said a choice has to be made to either make the customer learn the techniques or walk away with good jewelry, because in a half day class having both is impossible. So they choose to give you some training and practice but ultimately take over various aspects of it to insure a good piece of jewelry is the result. I agree with the logic and think that its only important that the expectations are right going in. Thanks for a great day.
I loved the time I spent in this studio. Wonderful people and I learned a lot about silver jewellery making and the Balinese culture. Bonus is I made a beautiful pendant to remind me of my stay in Bali. Definitely a highlight of my trip. Excellent communication with Ness who facilitated transportation to the studio and back.
